The value of pi is 3.14 the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of any circle is a desire to measure whereas the symbol for this ratio known today as pi. Pi is an irrational number which means that it’s decimal form neither ends nor does it becomes repetitive. Pi cannot be represented by an integer ratio and goes on forever  otherwise known as an infinite decimal. Leonhard Euler introduces the symbol  pi into common use in fact it was first used in print in its modern sense in 1706 a year before euler’s birth by self taught mathematics teacher william Jones in his second book synopsis palmariorum Mathesos or a new introduction to the mathematics based on his teaching notes. Pi is usually used in geometry and trigonometry in equations involving  sphere,or circles. It is also used in other areas of science including  number theory ,cosmology ,fractals, statistics,mechanics and electromagnetism.Pi is great importance in the measurement of circles but also in more advanced mathematics in connection with such topics as continued fractions,logarithms of imaginary numbers, and periodic functions. The number pi is extremely useful when solving geometry problems involving circles.  The Babylon and Egypt show that the value of pi to within one percent nearly 4,000 years ago. The true value of pi was developed by famous Greek mathematician archimedes around 250 BCE. He realized that circle is really  just a multi-sided object with an infinite number of sides.Pi is important in math because it describes how the circumference of a circle is in proportion to the diameter of a circle. To get pi a mathematician divides the circumference of the circle by the diameter.  one of the important application of pi is to find the ratio between circumference and diameter happens to be constant value no matter the size of the circle. Scholars often consider pi the most important and intriguing number in all of  mathematics. The symbol for pi has been  used regularly in its mathematical sense only for the past 250 years. Pi is often considered as the most intriguing and important number in all of mathematics. Pi is transcendental  because it is not algebraic it is not a non constant polynomial equation  with rational coefficients. The first calculations of pi came from the Babylonians in 200bc who determined it was 3.125. The ancient Egyptians came to the conclusion that it was 3.143. The symbol pi appears in many different formulas that have nothing to do with circles. Pi was not calculated to more than seven digits using geometric techniques and to more than.Basically my research has shown me that pi is a ratio which is the circumference to the diameter of any circle.
