INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT

Project is categorized into two phases i,e
Construction of Library Hall and Implementation of RFID System in Library .In Construction
of Library Hall tasks are divided into decomposition of deliverables, work
break down structure and assigning resources to tasks/deliverables. In
Construction of hall, we worked in milestones. There are 10 milestones in this
project.  Internal section we have done
with all accessories to complete our inner portion of hall. And, similarly in
external section of finishing we have done with all external works like paint
of building etc. Then, we have brought Racks and tables and PC’s etc for
Support of faculty & Student. We have assigned approximately 70+ resources
to complete our project.

SCOPE OF PROJECT

The
basic support of project is to build and develop Hall for Library and then
implementation of RFID system in library. For, RFID implementation, we use an
Automated Software i.e. ERP. We have use activities/tasks to achieve our
deliverables i.e. Foundation of Hall, Sub and Super Structure, Roof Structure
and so on. In RFID implementation, we use software for our sake of convenience.
It is an automated system. Online book
issue, Request column for librarian for providing new books, A separate column
for digital library, Student login page where student can find books issued by
him/her and date of return, A search column to search availability of books, A
teacher login page where teacher can add any events being organized in the
college and important suggestions regarding books. The system is developed to
cope up with the current issues and problems of library .The system can add
user, validate user and is also bug free. Save cost after computerized system
is implemented less human force will be required to maintain the library thus
reducing the overall cost. Save time Librarian is able to search record by
using few clicks of mouse and few search keywords thus saving his valuable
time.

  Project
Scope statement

In
implementation of RFID section, we have induced RFID chips in books. For that
purpose, we have procured a software i.e; ERP. We do a FTR (Formal Technical
Review) that how can we implement our RFID System. For FTR, we design a
software system for students and faculty that how a librarian can search for a
book. We have designed our software in such a way that librarian can search the
book by title, Author name & Availability. Then, we use password validation
technique that every student and faculty should have his/her own account for
library. Library Management System is an application which refers to library
systems which are generally small or medium in size. It is used by librarian to
manage the library using a computerized system where he/she can record various
transactions like issue of books, return of books, addition of new books,
addition of new students etc. Books and student maintenance modules are also
included in this system which would keep track of the students using the
library and also a detailed description about the books a library contains.
With this computerized system there will be no loss of book record or member
record which generally happens when a non computerized system is used. In
addition, report module is also included in Library Management System. If
user’s position is admin, the user is able to generate different kinds of
reports like lists of students registered, list of books, issue and return
reports. All these modules are able to help librarian to manage the library
with more convenience and in a more efficient way as compared to library
systems which are not computerized.

and hardware requirements.it  includes Operating
system- Windows 7 is used as the operating system as it is stable and supports
more features and is more user friendly database MYSQL-MYSQL is used as
database as it easy to maintain and retrieve records by simple queries which
are in English language which are easy to understand and easy to write.  Development tools and Programming language-
HTML is used to write the whole code and develop webpages with css, java script
for styling work and php for sever side scripting.

  SCOPE VERIFICATION

The
Project Manager will verify interim project deliverables against the original
scope as defined in the scope statement, WBS.
Once the Project Manager verifies that the scope meets the requirements
defined in the project plan, the Project Manager and Sponsor will meet for
formal acceptance of the deliverable.
During this meeting the Project Manager will present the deliverable to
the Project Sponsor for formal acceptance.
The Project Sponsor will accept the deliverable by signing a project
deliverable acceptance document.  This
will ensure that project work remains within the scope of the project on a
consistent basis throughout the life of the project.

    SCOPE CONTROL

The
Project Manager and the project team will work together to control the scope. The
project team will ensure that they perform only the work described in the WBS
and generate the defined deliverables for each WBS element.  The Project Manager will oversee the project
team and the progression of the project to ensure that this scope control
process is followed and progress is reported through Project Scope measurements
tools.

SCOPE
CHANGE

If a change is needed, the process for
recommending and estimating changes to the scope of the project must be carried
out.  Any project team member or Sponsor
can request changes to the project scope.
All change requests must be submitted to the Project Manager in the form
of a project change request document.
The Project Manager will then review the suggested change to the scope
of the project.

The
Project Manager will then either reject the change request if it does not apply
to the intent of the project, or convene a Change Control meeting between the
project team and Sponsor to review the change request further and perform an
impact assessment of the change.  If the
change request receives initial approval by the Project Manager, the Project
Manager will then formally submit the change request to the Project
Sponsor.

If
the Project Sponsor approves the scope change the Project Manager will then
formally accept the change by signing the project change control document.  Upon acceptance of the scope change by the
Project Sponsor and Project Manager the Project Manager will update all project
documents and communicate the scope change to all project team members’
stakeholders.
