Led Zeppelin is an English rock band,
formed in London in 1968. The bands original line up consisted on guitarist
Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, keyboardist and bassist John Paul Jones and
drummer John Bonham.  They are said to be
one of the originators of heavy metal, though their style also focused on hard
rock, blues rock and folk rock, as well as psychedelia.

band achieved commercial success with albums such as Led Zeppelin (1969), Led
Zeppelin II
(1969), Led Zeppelin III (1970), Led Zeppelin IV (1971), Houses of the Holy (1973), and Physical Graffiti (1975). For a decade
this band is considered to have ruled the music industry with its mysterious
style, meaningful lyrics and Robert’s powerful vocal chords, accompanied with
thundering drum solos and melodic keyboard sounds.

band reached new level success with their hit song ‘Stairway to Heaven’, which
is one of the most popular and influential works in rock music history ever.
The song is divided in three sections, each increasing in tempo. ‘Stairway to
Heaven’ is said to include one of the best guitar solos in rock music, also
claiming the title of the biggest-selling piece of sheet music in history. In
2004 the song was put by the Rolling Stone magazine as number 31 on their list
of ‘The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time’.

Zeppelin has influenced many popular rock bands such as AC/DC, Queen, Guns N’
Roses, Def Leppard and many more. After 49 years, despite the band breaking up
in 1980, Led Zeppelin is still considered to be the most successful and
influential rock group in history. The music was not content – they were always
trying something new, something that came with passion and expertise. The
Rolling stone magazine lists Led Zeppelin number 14. in the list of ‘100
Greatest Artists of All Time’ and for a reason. The music was not coming from a
producer or a songbook, but from the band members themselves, opening new doors
to the world of music. This band is also a great example that music industry is
not all about money and appearance. Their bohemian influenced lifestyle proved
that money is not everything – it is more about the emotions and feelings that
come with writing music and performing.
